hello ho ho, the travels have begun, infact, they are over halfway through, jeesh our first port of call was the Kalahari Bushcamp. we made it there alive and the journey was surprisingly smooth. we caught the coach from cape town and had a nice old 13 hour journey to a lil hick town called upington, we were boozing it with vodka and orange and a game of what would you rather do (the sibling and father scenario always gets people in the end...) journey sped past and we got picked up by ed smith a bloke with a 4x4 who was charging us CATASTRPOHIC prices to transport us to the camp. he was a nice guy though, we got to the bushcamp after 2 hours of serial killer road movie highway and it was literally in the middle of nowhere, it was just me, lee and richard our tourguide. we stupidly thought there might be a bar or an atm or something but all we had was a gas lamp a mobile stove, fire wood nd some tin crockery. we spent most of out time drinking and eating under the stars which were bloody amazing. unfortunately it wasn't until late in the evening that richard mentioned there were puff adders, yellow snakes and TA-FUCKING-RANTULAS in the area we occupied. needless to say, we were pooping ourselves most of the time. everytime we saw a fat millipede we'd think it was a snake and scream. the only snake we saw was a dead one of the side of the road, it was massive.
Jo'burg was our next stop, we went to Soweto, the Apartheid museum and a few markets, you cannot walk ANYWHERE in that place, it's just too god damn dangerous apparently.
now we are in Durban the weathers fine, we spend alot of time on the beach and we have the biggest cockroaches known to man sharing a room with us, life is peachy sweet.
i'm home i'll be making my way back to good ol' hertford english mommah this time next week. weather looks laaarvely in hertford judging my hollys photos
