you'll be estactic to hear that it is raining like crazy here in good ol' cape town, this shitty weather unfortunately scuppered our plans this weekend to go to kirstenbosch botanical gardens and have a nice picnic, however it was also a blessing in disguise, as without the rain we wouldn't have been forced to find solitude with clint eastwoods latest gem of a movie GRAN TORINO...for those of you unaware of clinty's latest venture, i urge you to go see it the acting is diabolical and the dialogue is something special, something very special indeed. you can watch an old man that looks like he's been shrivelling up in the sun for too long make racist remarks and snarl and growl alot...he's really good at growling. it's a weird film but in all seriousness go watch it, it's sort of funny, well me and amy were chuckling alot throughout the film from start to finish much to the annoyance of the man that moved one seat away from me. fuuuuuuuuneh.
although the weekend has been a bit slow, midweek we went and hiked up table mountain TAAAADAAAAAH this was hard hard hard hard work, it took us two hours of blood sweat and tears but we made it up alive. then we abseiled down 112m....motherfucker, i was calm and collected at the top, amy and maddie were a bit apprehensive but not me i was cooool as a cucumber, by the time i looked down and began my DESCENT INTO HELLL i was a soggy gherkin, nice anology. i was scared as hell and kept losing my footing, you're suppose to keep your feet below your waist, could i? could i hell. i actually ended up yelping 'help!' at one point, no one helped me. after what seemed like hours (about 4 minutes) of walking down the mountain face there was a great big drop, no rocks just dangling mid air letting yourself slide gracefully down and enjoying the amazing panoramic viewof the city and the atlantic ocean. unfortunately i wasn't so graceful and spun around few times before smacking into the mountain. during this whole incident my stomach was literally going crazy making loud loud noises and growling...like clint eastwood...i do hereby swear never to abseil again. ever.
hoping to do the bungee jump though woohoo
incase you're wondering what home life is like at the moment and the project, wehellllllly it's all a bit up in the air at present. maddie has done her time and is now leaving to go on her travels. so it's just me and maria in the cottage now, on our lonesome. hopefully they'll get some more volunteers in. i'm playing with the idea of coming home early as my finds are running ridiculously low, as for my time at stephen road well it also went tits up and im heading back to heavens nest the childrens home next week, i genuinely enjoyed my time at the kids home so i do look forward to going back with the snotty nosed kids and singing some bible bashing hymns with them once again.
